gull wing doors on a vette
THis may seem a tad crazy to some of you, but has anyone seen gull wing doors for C3's? I'm trying to picture it and it sounds cool, so I'm wondering if anyone has done it.

I'll just have a little conversation with myself here....
Here is a gull-wing vette I found. I don't like it.
What about butterfly style like this camaro?

I have a sportcompact magazine that has someone advertising door attachments for Hondas that open the doors up like a Lambogini's. Looks interesting. I also saw a Honda that had these at a sport compact car show recently at the NYS fairgrounds. Would make for an interesting mod to a C3 rice or not :)

Re: gull wing doors on a vette (Twin_Turbo)
The Camaro is actually a Evoluzione II it from Euro Works LTD.
I don't like the idea of loosing my t-tops in exchange for gull-wings. The flip up style would do, but I still can't find a picture of it with the windows up. My idea would be that the car would look completely stock while driving down the road, when the hood or the doors are open the customizations come out.

probably pretty hard to design gullwing doors on a car with no window borders, (like a vette). An ejecto-seat might be a little more practicle. Hammer time... :smash:

I saw the silver vette above at the museum the last time I was there, if you want to get a real close look at it.

Keep in mind that the doors are an important part of the structural rigidity of the chassis. Maybe less in important in full frame cars, but certainly in unibody cars. The Lambo doors and such are usually just show only.

It may be crazy but I even thought of converting over to Right-hand drive but it is very expensive to do so......

The labo's (countach, diablo...( all have doors that hinge at the windshield pillar. When closed they still tie the A pillar and the roof hoop together.

Re: gull wing doors on a vette (fauxrs)
Does that protoype have the gas tank in the front? Man, i'd hate to hit something if thats the case. Not that we have much chance in the vette as it is, but being sprayed with gas as you slam into something can't improve your odds any.
