Default raise or lower; which is easier.

The wifes 1973 does "squat" ever so slightly in the rear. So little that no one else seems to notice it; but i do.

I would like to change that by either raising the rear or lowering the front. Probably only need to make a 1/2 to 3/4" adjustment.

Is it easier to raise the rear on a C3, or lower the front? And can it be done by simple adjustment (no new parts purchased) ?

cut 1/2 coil and you should have your drop. Let it settle and drive it a while before doing any more.

Unless your front is too low now, I would lower it instead of raising the rear. The 4x4 look sucks on a C3, and too many of them have it.

How are the tires? Are the fronts new and the rear worn? Easiest fix could be some new tires, or if current tread is in good shape then tire size changes. If you have 255/60-15's all the way around then some 245/60-15's on the front will drop the front about 1/2". 235/60-15's would drop it a full inch. If you really want to rake it then get some 245/50-15's to drop the front 2-1/2"!

How are the tires?
interesting suggestion. I checked and all the tires seem to have the same tread depth.

I guess I was hoping for something easy... like how easy it is on a C5 to make small adjustments in heigth just by turning a few bolts. I take it that's not the case with a C3 ???

You can raise the rear by "tightening" the nuts on the rear spring bolts. The front will require new/modified springs, however.

I used a vice grip to keep the shaft from turning. I'm not sure if this is "bad", the book only describes adjustments as being done in the air.
