WTF!!! Where is my car!
I was gauranteed that I would have my car back today! I even called on Tuesday, and it would be done today. I took it to get painted and some body work Feb. 1st! It is in a million pieces still!!! To boot, it's a 74 and I had the original center grille. When I went to the shop to diplomatically suggest that it should have been done months ago, I see my center grille in 2 pieces on the shop floor!!! When I picked up the pieces, I heard " That was broken before right?"!!! "Fuc@ing no" I should have said, instead of "no." I am getting very drunk right now!! :seeya Sorry to read about your problem with your Vette. Sometimes you get what you pay for! :yesnod: Don't mean that in a bad way but, when I look for for a good deal I usually got the run around not always... sometime's a good deal isn't a good deal after all. :yesnod:

This is a $5300.00 job, and it isn't Earl Scheib. THey good work but they're treating too much like a side job! The car is painted, and looks great, but they're dragging their feet on the completion. Its been painted since the middle of May!

Very frustrating. Have you paid in full yet? If not, perhaps you could barter for the car back to re-asseble it yourself or via someone else and have them discount the price accordingly.

Its usually the cheap jobs that have them back fast and on time.
Its the expensive jobs like this that always take months. Quality jobs here. $5000 to $10,000 are taking 6 to 12 months to complete and do right. My painter says he spends six weeks on nothing but prep and sometimes it takes more to get them right.

I'd be fruious Pat. I think you've been more than patient. I had my new Excursion in the shop for waranty work recently, they had it 2 days and I was rip-snortn' mad. :cuss :cuss Is it in a condition that you could drive it home and finish assembly yourself? :cuss What needs finished? Is it rubbed out?

I haven't paid a dime yet, so I agree there might be some bartering power. The car look great, but I want it back. The doors are hung, the hood is on, the headlight assemblies are apart, the rear window is out, and a lot of the interior, lights etc, are all over the place. This was a long cold winter in Pittsburgh, and a very wet spring. I just want it back! Thank you all for chimeing in, I've nerve really driven a vette, and I want to badly! :smash:

Thats exactly why most paint and body shops want touch a Corvette. I have had many tell me they can take a regular car in on Monday and have it ready Friday and get the insurance check and make plenty more money without the hassle of working on Corvettes and having the frustration of dealing with the owners.

this is why i do my own work on my car....body shops, unless you know the guy personally or your a buddy...your car is left last on the list all the time.
