Some of you may have already figured this out, but I had my eyes opened today. In the "Tractor Supply Co." (TSC) add they advertised that they sell fasteners by the pound instead of by the piece. They also have grades 2, 5, and 8.
I needed some fasteners to attach my power steering pump and brackets, so I went over there this morning. The grade 8 fasteners were $2.99/lb.....I got the following (.30 lb) for $.90:
They didn't have all the sizes I needed so I went to another farm supply store (Rural King). Their grade 8 fasteners were $2.69/lb..........I got 2 .38-16x.5 bolts for $.17.
I don't know if either of these stores are nation wide, but I would imagine it is typical of a farm supply type store.
I may be making a mountain out of a mole hill , but I think this is WAY cheaper than going to Lowes, or a hardware store.
That's where I've been getting mine. Actually Tractor Supply Store has all kinds of cool stuff at good prices, including a good selection of tools, compressors, etc.
