Does anyone know if Cars Components Design, P O Box 17426, Smithfield, RI 02917 is still in business? I am trying to find a source for a 6 link rear suspension.
I'm pretty sure that company is gone. Two good sources for info on the 6-link are http://www.corvettefaq.com/listing.asp?group=3 (look at the top of the page), and searching the forum archives under "link" or "bar".
I believe the current source for a completed unit is a gentleman in Canada. His contact information is in the forum archives. Many have made their own, and photos abound. The gentleman in Canada recommended to me to use VBP "smart struts" as the lower links to go with the upper links he manufactures.
I made my own system 2 years ago and love it. It can be home made for well under $100 CDN and most parts can be bought from a race car supply house. You do need to be able to fabricate a little and the rear end must come out. The clips on the yokes must be removed and the yokes shortened so they slide in and out freely.
I have made numerous suspension adjustments and with the 6 link it is so easy.
This is just a poor picture of the upper link.
No I don't have drawings and you need to understand the system so you know where the mounting points need to be. Tomorrow from work I will try and send you a few articles. They are on my work computer.
