A/C Installation
I am looking to buy a "71 Vette that has no A/C but as I live in FL was wondering if installing an aftermarket A/C is an option and if so how much it would cost. Thanks for an info.

There are sveral places that make A/C for street rods, and old cars. Keep your eyes on this board because there are quite a few posters who have done this. I think it will run you about 1K to do the job. :cool:

I'm in the process now. I bought the hot rod air kit for$1.180 shipped. I need it vac'd & charged & hopfully that will be it. see pics at http://www.msnusers.com/slpdaypics

The Corvette Clinic in Sanford, FL sells a Sanderson kit for about $1K that has everything you need for the installation from scratch. If you don't want to mess with installation, they can do it easily. One of the better systems around.

I did the vintage air route... but if I had it to do over again, I'd use old air products or hot rod air. Both have kits that will fit better than the vintage air.
Of course I couldn't find anyone who had either of those installed to tell me how well they work either.
