Default Hood Insulation....which is better?

I'm looking to get new hood insulation and noticed (in Ecklers) there are two kinds of insulation...GM for $79.99 and regular (?) $39.99....What is the difference? Is one form fitted and the other flat?....which is better? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Get the cheaper one. I had to trim a bit, but it looks great and is coated on both sides, with some sort of insulation in between. Looks original. Plus, if you ever replace, it is cheap.

The GM one is molded and contoured for fit and is the factory correct one. Try http://www.gmpartsdirect.com for pricing, I think they are less then your other supplier. I've heard a lot of guys are running without them and have had no problems.
