77 Tach problems
The tach in my 77 sits at approx. 1500 RPM, it actually bounces up and down from 1500 to 2000 no matter where the engine RPM is. I read some other threads about the filter for the tach. Where would I find it and what does it look like? Any suggestions to fix or what to check would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: 77 Tach problems (Jeffski)
I"d like to know that answer also, mine is also stuck there. My vette"s a '70 with the electric tach, If I get the chance I"ll call the local vette shop and ask them, let you know. :banghead:

Re: 77 Tach problems (Jeffski)
I do not think that is a common problem. I have not had it. I'm not sure about the filter either. I had a small problem once with the tach. It would act like it was not working, then it would spike every now and then. Turned out that there is a wire that connects into this little spherical thing (i guess this might be the filter). My wire was barely hanging on by a thread, literally. I just resoldered it on and problem solved. I can try to take a picture if you want, although it may be a few days.
