...drove the Vette today for the first time in 2 weeks. Soon after I bought it, discovered the drivers lower A-Arm mount was ripped off the crossmember (see earlier post for pics). Anyway, I'm pretty good w/an arc welder, so I put a scissors jack under the mount and pushed it right back up onto the spot welds and ran a bead down both sides onto the crossmember. But, I digress...
It was 105(heat index) today (no A/C in the lil girl yet), so I was sweating my butt off in traffic just generally pissed at the world (heat will do that to you) when I pass two C5's in the opposite turn lane - get this... they both rolled down their (air conditioned) windows to give me 'DA WAVE! There's hope for those C5'ers yet!
That's great! Maybe the people in Cape Coral/Fort Myers in C4's and C5's need a lesson in "the wave" (CF Forum members notwithstanding)
Wednesday, my wife and I , accompanied by MY 95 and Mrs Qtip went to a local 1/8 mile track for some practice. We caravaned and had 3 vettes. I saw 3 or 4 C5's and 1 other C4 and not one waved! Yes, I was frantically waving with my hand right at the window to make sure they could see through my non-tinted windows! UGH! :banghead:
How do you all go about doing the wave?? I lifted my hand off the wheel and gave a guy in a 78 SA the wave today. He stuck his hand out the window, and did a one fluid motion of the "wave"... it was pointing down, it came up, and then went back into the car...
