Default Crane xr-i conversion

I am getting ready to put in the xr-i electronic conversion from crane. I know a few of you have done this already, and I have reads the posts. I have checked the coil to make sure it is the correct one and all the other tests the instructions require. My question is which of the wires coming off of the positive side of the coil would be the correct one to tap. I have a black wire and a red wire with a mesh cover. My wiring diagram does not show either of these. I can spit the wires apart (they have the same connector) and buzz them individually, but if some one knows the answer it will save some time when I put it in.

the XR-1 does not connect to the coils positive terminal - nor any of the wires connecting to the coils positive terminal.

One of the XR-i wires goes to the coils negative post, and the other
XR-i wire goes to a 12v ignition actuated source; preferrably on your fuse block.

I found that the 6-32 screws that hold the module onto the baseplate to be too short. I managed to strip one of the holes using the long part of the allen wrench. :cry Luckily there were still plenty of threads deeper in the hole to get a longer screw in. The last thing you want is one of those little screws popping off at 6 grand. :nono: Other than that, the conversion is great. Car idles better and I have the security of a rev limiter.
