Hey all, I've been hard pressed to find a correct size power steering belt for my car. 1969 350/350 w/AC and PS. I could get one from Eckler's or Zip's for nearly $30, but I'd rather get a non-factory-correct belt for my daily driver.
I've tried the local auto stores and they don't have the right size. If any of you know the part number or size and where I can get it, I'd appreciate it!
Sometimes you just have to take your old belt in and hold it up to every belt they have until you find a match. And if you dont find a match, then you go to a different parts store and try again. I know its pretty stupid, but sometimes you just have to do what it takes.
The problem is that some stores will have the belt but they wont have it listed in the computer for all the cars it works for. So when you ask they say they dont have it, which is BS becuase all parts stores will carry a full line of sbc belts.
I would have done that, but the old belt was in five peices. When I removed it, it disintegrated.
I went to O'Reily's and gave them my car info. Their computer came up with the Gates 7360 just as mentioned here, and it's 3/8" x 36-5/8" for future reference. It looks like the perfect size.
