Side air vents

Side air vents
When I check the vent/fan, I get all the air coming out down at my feet!!!
Anybody have any ideas as to what my problem is?? I am about ready to charge up my AC system, but until I get air blowing out the vents that would be kind of worthless - Anybody been through this before ?

no vacuum getting to the selector control, or no vacuum coming from the selector control to the flapper door in the air box. The controls are vacuum driven and work off of little plastic vacuum tubes and actuators to open and close doors.
Sounds like you will need a vacuum pump and to pull the side panels from the transmission tunnel and yank the passenger seat so you can get under the dash......
