I once saw an ebay auction for an "almost square piece of cardboard". It was a flap from a box. It was a serious auction for the stupidous thing the guy could think of ... and it sold for something like $3.00.

A couple of years ago someone sold and X-Box box on Ebay(when they first came out) for some unbelievable price. The buyer got just what the guy advertised the Box that the X-Box came in. I never heard how that was resolved, but be careful on Ebay!
I got burned by a guy on Ebay a couple of years ago he advertised a brand new set of Vortec Head springs (picture showed them in a Crane box with the Data sheet) I bit and bought and ended up with a set of pulls from his new Vortec heads, he told me "I never said they were the Crane Vortec springs, I just said they were new springs for Vortec Heads, and since the heads were new the springs were new." The sombitch! But I really have to blame myself for not getting all the details before I bid on them. He didn't lie, I just didn't ask the right questions.

My favorite is when the X-Box first came out. There were 2 great auctions the. A box with the letter "x" drawn on it. That didn't get much because of the pictures. The best was the one mentioned above. :lolg:

I've heard of some guys in Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota that were selling "North woods, weathered, birchwood outdoor decorations". All they were were sticks that they picked up in their yard. I only wish I had thought of it first.
There are plenty of scam auctions on ebay, and many "joke" auctions as well. In this case, I am unfamiliar with the market for collector paper money. I have no idea if this particular $10 note has any value to a collector beyond it's face value. People collect coins; people collect paper money... So, I don't think it's an auction for a ten dollar bill that has gone beyond the $10 value to $12.50.... it might have a little value to a collector... that's all. MJ
