140 mph in my Volvo, but only 100 in my Vette in acceleration tests.
Did 1/8 mile accelerations tests yesterday. Got around 8 seconds, but I got no grip on that road. Trap speed ~87 mph.

How fast or how manytimes, My old Crown Vic patrol car would run 132 by the radar readout. I have been too fast too many times in everything from patrol cars to Corvettes
The first time I was ever over the top(140) was in a 1969 427 435 hp C-3 Coupe. One of my friends had just bought it new after he graduated and had a great job that paid real well. I was still in H.S. at the time I-24 was being built and there was a section of road from the 114 mile marker to the 135 mile marker that was finished but still closed. We were on it and that was the first time I had ever seen the white lines run together and the trees blurrrrrrrrrr. jim

A few years ago I was running at 140 but the ride was really hairy and the front end felt like it was going to take off any moment. Last Tuesday night I ran the vet at 130, the front did not feel like it was going to take off but the front end set up a slight vibration that bothered me. I can go through exteme suspension travels down like going down a steep hill, through a gulley with a small bridge and back up the other side without a problme at 100 mph now that I have done alot of bump steer fixing.
Guys it is a problem if the car becomes slightly air born over a crest of a hill and comes down hard on the other side without alot of work to the steering.

120-125 She was still climbing but slowly, I had to deccelerate it was gettin hairy and scary, and a couple of weeks ago I went up to 110 after being challenged by a BMW Z-3, He kept climbing and all I had to do was step on the gas and it was quite clear that I was out runnin him easily my vette wasn't even runnin right (still isn't). BMW Z-3 HA HA Ha What A joke! :lol:

I had my own car just under 6500 in od with 4.11 gears. I suppose that's about 170 but it did take awhile to get those last few mph in. I think we had a friends Z06 redlined in 4th gear so that's gotta be 140+. He's got a new comp cams roller in it now and it pulls to 7000 in fourth so that's pretty cool. But we had to raise the rev limiter to do that all thanks to LS1 edit. Damn that program does lots of stuff.

About 145 in a 02 ZO6 that I had on loan for a week. Never got past 5th gear cause I ran out of room....way :cool:

135mph, then my 79 felt like it was going to lift off
i also opened the headlights at 100mph, then tried to close them at 110........they didn't want to go all the way down, then they started floating........
so i hit the brakes

I was going to work on the old highway and caught up to a raced out rice burner not sure what was under that body kit. he knew I was going to pass so he gunned it and I stayed on his bumper until about 140 when he toped
out. I was going to pass until I saw the speed then decided not to.
the ol 73 454 was up to the task but I wasnt. :cool:
