quadrajet sputter at idle
'80 vette 56k miles L-48
after warmup and choke kickdown, once she idles towards 10k rpm things are fine. But eventually at stops the idle drops lower towards 800 rpm and she begins to hickup, mildly. I frequently put her in nuetral till it's time to go to help matters. Is there an adjustment that'll raise this low end idle?

Re: quadrajet sputter at idle (drs80vette)
For starters, you need to adjust your idle mixture. Do you know the procedure? If not, somebody will chime in and explain it... :yesnod:

The symptoms you describe may not be carb related. Could be ignition. whens the last time she got a good complete tune up? IE plugs wires cap rotor and such. Timing adjustments can have an effect on idle quality as well. those q-jet idle mixture screws are set from the factory and best left alone. Of coarse thats only true if someone hasnt already messed with them.
