Default R134a conversion now what?

I bought the kit, put a new drier/accumulator on, put a new orifice tube in and put everything back together. I've put the 134a adaptors on and am ready to charge. Will I need to bleed air from the system or evacuate air as I put the new freon in. It would make sense that I would since it's a closed system, empty with new drier, as the freon goes in won't something need to come out?
What a job getting the old drier out and the new one in. Hope I can use it soon, my luck all this work and the compressor will be bad.
Thanks for any input.

You need to pull a vacuum on the system. You can rent a vacuum pump, or you can buy one of those cheepy compressor operated vacuum pumps on Ebay. If you use the cheepy one, make sure you pull vacuum for a couple of hours. You don't want any air (condensation) in your closed system. When charging the system, put 1 can of freon in, then the oil charge, then the rest of your freon. You do have a set of manifold guages, right? They can be rented to, or bought on Ebay for about $50, or bought from the 'Zone for around $65. If you didn't replace your compressor, it prolly won't live more than a year with the 'death' kit on it. Some do, but it's luck.

Good luck!
