camaro 5speed?
Someone has offered me a Camaro 5 speed for $200. I curently have a auto but would like to convert over. I rember something about the early camaro transmissions not being to strong, will a 1990 Z28 5 speed be alright in my car? The guy says he wants to get rid of it and it has just been sitting for a long time.

It takes a little fabbing to make it work but it can be done. That t-5 should be what is called 'world class' although it is still not a real strong trans like a muncie. There is a place that sells new internals for it for about $1,000 to make it able to handle over 600 torq. I have a w/c t-5 sitting on my workbench waiting to be installed. If you don't mind the fabrication needed; trans mount bracket, trans tunnel modification, shorten drive shaft, couple other small things; then it is a low cost alt to some of the much higher priced trans that are avail. A couple guys are running them here, do a search in archives under t5, t-5 etc adn you should find some more info.
