I can't tell you everything, feel free to add.

This is a before picture I am trying to reassemble from. The heads have been change, and the alternator bracket is extended 2-3", and there is no AIR pump or AC.

Now I can't get the new rad hose to fit without the extra spacer piece on the alternator bracket; that I think I threw away.

Why was this alternator arm extended?

hey rexx, i don't see any pictures
<edit> o.k. now i see one picture but i don't see anything particularly wrong with it.
to my knowledge, all factory iron heads had the same accessory bolt holes except some of the famed high perf heads that didn't come with any of them.
if they're aftermarket, all bets are off. but they shouldn't be that far out. then again, it's not uncommon , at least for me, that i can take something apart and reuse the exact same parts on reassembly but things still don't want to line up.

Hopefully it works now.

Could the heads be taller?

Are you talking about the upper support bracket that looks kinda like an 'L'? If so the vette one is a diff angle than the aftermarket ones you get a parts store, found out that myself.

I found a NOS GM bracket from the local corvette store, maybe it is different too?

The picture disappears when I close yahoo.
