TT II offset?
Its probably a old topic but its my turn now lol.
1 What offset is everyone running on there TT II I am going to buy 17 by 8
2 Is the rear brake mount an issue?
Thinking about 255 45 17 tires.
Any info is greatly appreciated I am going to order them this week.

I did exactly what you are planning on doing on my 77/81. I had no problems using 17 x 8 TT II's with a 4" backspacing. We simply bolted the new wheels on and everything fit. I can't give you 100% reassurance regarding the parking brake cable, as mine is not connected. However, the bracket for it is still welded to the trailing arm in the stock position. The new wheels and tires (Kumho Ecsta 712's) are a great improvement over the BFG T/A's that they replaced. I'm sure you'll be happy with the upgrade!
