how hard is it to upgrade from a SB to a BB and how mych power can the stock drivetrain handle, also thinking about a richmond ROD, how much power can that handle, I know it says 450ft lbs of torque but merlin was using one so whats the deal with it, thanks

I am sure there are many who will jump in here for you. The standard stuff first, new front springs for sure, headers, brackets for alternator, water pump, BeCool radiator or similar , new BB hood or L-88 hood. New drive shaft, half shafts, solid u-joints. Not sure about what the richmond trany can handle, but Muncies do a fair job as long as you dont do hole shots all of the time. All in all a BB is well worth the time and money spent, big fun!!

as I understand it, it is usually cheaper to buy a big block than convert a small block, unless you absolutely must have a post-'75, in which case an original BBC is unobtainium.

your mileage may vary.
