Coil Overs for the front

it has the plate there sot eh shock won't hang on the flimsy shock mount (which isn't meant to carry all the load) and it's for GM cars. I think this will work:

It's not a full coil over, it's semi. The coil sits in the upper pocket: (was also easy to see since it uses a stock rubber mount on top)

I even have a set sitting on the shelf in the shop and have access to alot more for free.
My question is are they superior to normal springs and shock setup?
The coil overs can be easily adjusted for ride height and when selecting the proper shock you can adjust bump & rebound too.
The VB&P system also takes away a lot of clearance in the front, we have hige speed bumps here and I want as much clearance as i cang et but with the front lowered (I have lost the front bumper, the frame extension and the air dam on a speed bump before)
The main benefit would be in the shock itself (single or double adjustable without taking it off)
and then there's the cool factor :)
