Iam considering putting a steering stabilizer on my 73 vette. Would anyone have any suggestions as to the pros or cons of doing this. Also any leads as to where I can buy one specifically for this car, assuming this is a good approach...Thanks
Re: Steering stabilizer for 73 s/b coupe (Jim Shea)
The unit Iam thinking about putting on is a type shock absorber more typically installed on the steering linkage of 4x4's. It's purpose is to provide a more stable platform less susceptible to wandering over rough roads.
The cars power steering and suspension have been completely gone over and repaired where required, so I am sure that there are no mechanical problems. I would just like to tame the cars handling characteristics over rough roads.

May we assume that the steering box has been properly adjusted?
No amount of new suspension components will make the car handle well if the box is messed up. When everything is right, the stability and handling of these things will bring tears to your eyes - at least in my experience.
