It says in Ebock's catalogue that an air gap RPM will not fit under a Vette hood,
but I would think they'd mean with carburetor. How about when converted
to port efi with just an air valve on top - they're not as tall as a carb.
Anybody know? Thanks!
You're still going to have to run a throttle body on top. While maybe not as tall as a carb (but closer in height than you might think), you still have to run an aircleaner on top of that, too.
On mine, the stock hood would not close even with the aircleaner completely off...the carb was installed, but still... I just don't see you being able to pull it off, unless you're going to run a really, really flat throttle body/plate setup and some kind of remote aircleaner and lots of ducting to the TB.
I've been wanting a Edelbrock air-gap intake with a holley vac.sec. square bore to go with it , but now it seems that I have to get a high rise hood to add to the bill of sale !!!! :cuss
If your going straight to EFI then you might aswell get a Victor Jr.
The advantage of a dual plane manifold is no longer required since the EFI does not depend on a vacuum signal.
