Can anyone tell me why the heater blower motor has a 12 gauge
(3.0) positive wire and only a 16 gauge (1.0) ground?
I changed my blower and at the same time the ground wire to a
12 gauge. The fuse blew after a few minutes of "High" operation.
I can't say if the new wire is the problem but why is there a
difference in the wire size?
Generally the current carrying capacity of the groung wire is at a lower potential than the feed wire in a balanced circuit,& is there to complete the circuit. The ground or neutral should be at earth potential,& should carry very little current. The size of the wire should not cause the fuse to blow, make sure you have the correct size fuse in,it should be either a 25A or a 30A.
If it still blows then there is a problem with the motor.
