Am I missing part of my nose?
Is there supposed to be more to the underside of my vette's nose (it's a 1980)? Namely, an air dam or spoiler to help force air into the radiator? I checked out the archives to find some solutions to a hot engine and I remember reading to make sure that the nose was all there. Right now I'm noticing that if I'm driving casual around town, I don't seem to break 200 F. If I'm on the hiway or I start getting it on around town, I can hit around 220 F or higher  .
Isn't troubleshooting fun?
Thanks

You are DEFINATLY missing the center panel and the lower spoiler. I am suprised that you aren't having overheating problems at highway speeds. Here is the only picture I could find that shows the lower front of my 82.

Along the very bottom piece of your radiator core support, you'll see a row of holes for the screws(or the screws may still be there) that attached the rearmost part of the center dam which formed the "slope" to FORCE air up to your radiator.

looks like you're also missing the rubber sections of the spoiler
Is that the black thing along the bottom of Jim's '82 (see two posts up)?

Here it is..don't have my digital camera with me...or else I would take better shot..you can see how the dam goes all the way across the bottom. Good luck hope this helps..

I am missing the same stuff (drove it off at a speed bump), I made the rubber myself and replaced the fiberglass scoop with a huge aluminium one.
