Default Timing Light Hook up

Where is a good spot to pick up 12 Volts for the Timing light . Jumper cables from the Battery . Hot Post on Back of Alternator .????
This is on a 81.

:iagree: I put a short lead with a female plug socket on that hot post, and the matching male plug on my timing light. There's a dummy rubber plug that keeps dirt out when I don't need to use the socket. :seeya

My light has aligator clips on the leads so I just clip it on. Easier in my opinion.
