This car has been on EBAY several times, I know for sure that it has the wrong motor in it. As far a authenticity goes there is no mention of paperwork. Maybe Rowdy Rat will comment on this car, my advice would be buyer beware!
Yes, this one has been discussed several times before. The engine is most certainly not the unit originally installed in the car. The assembly date of the engine post dates the build date of the car... Add to that the "LO" broadcast code indicates a second design L-88 engine which again, was not available until much later in the 1969 model year. The fact that the VIN derivative does match the serial number for this car leads me to believe that at some point in time, someone has tried to pass this car off as a "matching numbers" vehicle... Makes me wonder what else has been done to it.
No paper documentation... Probably no verifiable owner history either... Lots of red flags. The car may be a real L-88, but a potential buyer had better know what you are looking at and be well versed on L-88s if they decide to purchase it.
