Yes, it's metallic and it doesn't look yellow at all. It's very gold. A good color with a confusing name.

Speaking of *gold*....

How many years from '53 on up actually had a color that GM noted as gold? The vette just raffled off at the NCM was the only '03 vette painted gold.

War Bonnet Yellow definitely = Gold
I picture it in my mind as something bright and flashy. A nice color, but not yellow.

My 69 was originally Riverside Gold, which is very similar to WBY, Riverside Gold was a one year only color (I think) It was also the color of the 3 Corvettes given to the Apollo Moon Astronauts back in July of 1969. (The same month my car was built.)
I will eventually return my car to Riverside Gold.

check this one out. it is a 'modified' version WBY with some lime metallic added and a few other custom touches. i like it a lot. almost bought this car several years ago.

Nope it's not "metallic" it's "iridescent" - it's what GM called a "firemist"

I'm in the process now of repainting my '72 back to its original WBY. Definitely a color that "grows" on you...

Whatever it is I sure like the color on the chrome bumper cars. That and Riverside Gold .

BTW , what is the actual name of the hubcaps for those year cars ? Those are studly IMO .....
