Default Finally found an awesome alignment shop!!

After having difficulty with other mechanics, I found a no-nonsense repair shop that was suprisingly friendly and up-front. If you are in the Eastern PA or NJ area, check out Sawchuck's Garage in Sanatoga, PA (right off Rt. 422). I test drove the car after the alignment and came back with a poopie-eatin' grin on my face. 85mph with no hands. Nice Job!!!

Nothing against a vette specialist, especially one I don't know, but Sawchuck's specializes in alignments and transmissions. I've had too many problems with so-called "Vette Specialists". "Vette Specialists" charge too much!!

Here's the info on Sawchuk's

Sawchuk's Garage, Inc.
3196 W. Ridge Pike
Pottstown, PA 19464

610-495-6510
610-495-7704 http://www.sawchucksgarage.com

They told me up front that a 4-wheel alignment would cost $160. They pulled out 3/4" shims placed in the front by a so-called "vette specialist" and replaced them with the proper 5/8" shims. They said, "even if they cranked down on those bolts to tighten the shims, they still would have popped out". That's why alignment specialists are better than "vette specialists" for alignments.

Good luck.

Also, they also mentioned that they have one of the best carb guys in the area. For alignments, ask for John (service manager)

70 454 Try taking the info I offered in the spirit that it was offered to you . First of all both Cassel's and Sawchuck's are well known to people in the trade around here for a long time . Wes Cassel is a corvette alignment specialist and used exclusively by vette restoration specialists in this area . That is not taking anything away from the expertise available at Sawchuck's establishment . Responses such as your are the type that makes a lot of people in the know NOT want to post here at times . But then again perhaps I am wrong and you are highly experienced in the automotive trade . Myself and a lot of other pro shops in this area send a lot of work to the Sawchuck shop , as they are all you said and a lot more . I simply attempted to supply another source of good work in this area for vette enthusiasts .

Every day you live some one can teach you something ,,,,,,,,,, if you try the art of listening . I have 40 years experience in the trade and I daily glean info in this forum . I also avoid telling someone I may not agree with that they are all wet . It really is in bad taste ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I wish they were closer  . I need an alignment and I'm afraid to take it just anywhere . . . I've read too many horror stories. I'd try the alignment myself with a home-made setup, but I just don't have the room. Can anybody recommend a good place in northeastern NJ, namely around my town, Maplewood? I know of a few local shops that I see vettes at all the time, but that doesn't mean they're good at it :skep: .

Ram82Fire:

I was asked to post the information for Sawchuk's Garage and you misinformed everybody on the forum as to an incorrect phone number for them. Don't jump in (and on myself) when you were in the wrong.

I used Carradini's in Rockaway new jersey . It was recommended by someone who owns tons of vettes. No problems thus far
