bellhousing area; what am I missing?
Didn't know until after we purchased this automatic 1973 that the flywheel and converter are exposed. I ordered an "instection cover" from Dr. Rebuild, but it is a flat metal piece that can't possibly cover over this area.
here's the part I received from the Doc:
here's what I'm trying to cover up (pic taken from drivers side):
is it called something different than an "inspection cover" for the auto trans setup?

Looks like you got the manual tranny cover. The auto trany cover is bowl shaped, sort of. By using the term bellhousing you indicated a manual tranny. You want a torque converter cover. Joe

I have now found the correct part number. They are calling it an "under pan".
