Damn, thats sweet....I wish I wouldve known about this. I just got done putting in a 700r4 because I didnt want to tackle all of the custom modification it previously took to put a 6 speed in just yet. How much did it end up costing you? Damnit, now IM mad, I wish I wouldve known. :banghead:

We're having a meetinf with our website guru next. I'll make sure we get some good 6 speed stuff up there.

Here's the scoop on our 6-speed conversion kit for the C3.
4-speed manual to 6-speed conversion kit includes:

RATIOS: 1st 2.66 (2.52 for Muncie), 2nd 1.78, 3rd 1.3, 4th 1

The cross member requires modification which is detailed in the instructions. A 6"x2" slit needs to be made in the tunnel. The laser cut steel panel included in the kit covers the modified area.

If my 383 has a wide torque curve, why would I select a 6 speed over a 5 speed if the 1st and final gears are approx the same?

But the final gear is NOT the same. Really, the 6-speed just gives another OD gear.

IMHO, the 6 speed (T56) is better for 4.10 or deeper gears due to the .5 OD and 2.66 1'st. The 5 speed (Tremec) is better for 3.36 or so gears due to the .68 OD and 3.27 1'st.
