This car looks absolutely beautiful. Why am I looking....I already have a Vette I can't afford. Sure is nice to dream about being able to afford this one though.
Now that would be a great car to drop a 502/502 in along with a 6 speed, flare the fenders, and paint it a nice shiny Torch Red. What an excellent example of a well maintained all original car. You gotta figure that it would be a breeze to top flight this one and get a Bowtie award to boot.
Too pricey? Really? For an all original loaded '71 LT-1 with such low miles and pretty well guaranteed to Top Flight and Bowtie? I say this looks like a pretty good deal for a real low mile, all original, LT-1. While it's possible to restore a car to this condition, they are only original once and that can't be recreated.
I didn't catch it was a vert, although the reserve isn't meet, $25,000- $30,000 isn;t out of the question. If I had the $ to spend and could resist my urges to go faster, it would be a pretty good investment.
The car does look really good, but I would be a little cautious if the rivets have shown dimples between the headlights and the hood. The owner indicated that area had been "repaired". I would be curious to find out how the repair was done. That headlight support will cause that condition from good old fashioned rust building up between the hood surround skin and the support. Using fillers over the dimples will only fix the problem short term, then more rust accumulates and they come back.
Why wouldn't an owner of this car bowtie and topflight (and all the other good for nothing ways of showing a car hasn't been treated right, i.e. DRIVEN) it BEFORE selling it? I would think if it were as pristine as advertised it would have the NCRS certificates already.
