Default More speed please

I need my car to go faster, it has good aceleration but im doing like 2500 rpm at 50 mph in 4th gear. Can i get an overdrive unit or something? If i have to do a tranny swap it will have to be a used one because there is no way im shelling out 4 grand american for a new transmission when i can go buy a 5 speed car and spend the 4 grand on the engine.

P.S. all my specs are in my sig

WHAT!? I happen to like the sound of 4000rpm at 80mph.....honestly.
The easiest route would be to switch to a 3.08, other than that you could A: run some 35" super swampers, or B:get an overdrive unit.

3.08 is probably the route to go.

Good Luck!

ya but with 3.08 i wont be able to spin the tires on occasion. and the overdrive would allow me to say i have a 5 speed ;)

Hey, don't complain about 2500rpm going 45mph, I'm at 3200rpm at 45, with a tope speed of less than 90mph. I am too sick of revving to high. I bought a used T-5 tranny from a Camaro, it was $400. You maybe able to find a T-56 from a Camaro also, it's a lot stronger than a T-5. It is good for 450lb ft of torque I believe. I asked a junkyard for a price on one and they quoted me $550.
