Default Another AC Question

Under the low pressure (fill) valve is an inline switch with two wires going to it. Is it a preasure switch? My AC stopped working. While trying to figure out why I giggled the plug and it kicked in. I checked the pressue and it's where it should be.. I tried giggling just the wires and it wouldn't kick in so I'm guessing it's inside. What is this switch? Also, does this switch just complete the circuit.. For testing purposes could I just use a small wire and jump the two connectors inside the wire harness that connects to this thing?

That is the pressure switch. You can pick one up a Autozone pretty cheap. They can be tested by jumping the wires.

Thanks.. I'm guessing I'll **** out all my R134a while changing it right? Also, how does it come out? It looks molded to the pipe/hose. The base has a hex shape so maybe it's not so molded.. Just curious.. Have you or anyone ever need to change one of these?

I had one changed in my cadillac, and the mechanic didn't say anything about having to get all the r134a out of the system. He did charge me something like $20 for the switch and another $45 labor.
