Default Painting new mechanical components

My new trailing arms are a nice black color right out of the box. Is this a primer or can they be installed as is. I have done the rest of the frame and other parts in POR15.

What is the best thing to do? Leave the trailing arms with the original black paint or sand it off and redo with other paint?

Thanks

Well, if you have done every thing else in POR15 then you might as well do them too. I'm sure it would be OK to install them as is, but POR15 is the better choice.

If they're VB&P, paint them or they'll rust in no time. I'd use some kind of epoxy paint.

I purchased them from a Canadian dealer that deals with Corvette America. The company's name is Ontario Corvette Corral.

Ensure proper prep for the POR15 or it'll just flake off in time...

If you're going to refinish, no need to sand the existing completely off. Just scuff it up some so a new finish will stick. Clean with paint prep or alchol and paint. :yesnod:
