Perhaps some of you have read my posts-I am having some tuning problems and need feedback.
Please check your rpm's at cold start and report back. Here is what mine is doing: Outside temp is at 75. Cold engine start-1700 rpm's for 1 minute, then it takes 1 minute more to drop to the 1000 rpm mark, then one more minute again for it to finally drop to 800 rpm. I fail to believe this is how it should be. I'm sure GM knows people don't have the patience to sit and warm up an engine like that. Just imagine if it were really cold out! In comparison my truck cold starts at 1000 rpm for only about 2 seconds and then levels out at 800 rpm. I have been dicking around with this thing for way too long now and am about ready to put it on e-bay :smash:
1700 rpm in open loop is way too high, it should be around 1000, 1200 max.
Normal idle rpm is anywhere between 700 and about 900, depends on whatt he car likes best.
Sounds like it's time to check for vac leaks and rebalance those TB's.
What you need is the stock warm up table, it will tell you what rpm the eng is programmed to run at at a specific coolant temp. Then you can work from there.
