Default would you 'jones' without the forum?

i was just over in the elephant graveyard (O/T) cruising around and ran across a member whose only been here just less than a year and has 9000+ posts. in any other aspect of life that would sure be a good case for addiction. so what do you guys think? i really enjoy coming here but i like to think i still have a life outside the forum. what would be the line for you between a simple hobby and obsession?

I'm not sure I even know what's going on in this post, Gary.

Careful, my friend. If the OT guys get wind of this, they'll hijack the thread and you'll have 45 posts within the 30 minutes before the moderator locks it down. Ask me how I know. :smash:

I like to look at posts count as money in the aspect that you can either swindle thousands of post to end up with a bunch, or you can get them the honest way. Majority of the C-3 guys got em honest.

I - for one here - ALWAYS go to OT for my technical information.
Sure, it's like sifting sand out of dirt - but I have loads of time on my hands.
Besides, everyone *here* is either stupid or ignorant.
How many times over have my posts been unanswered or un-informative ?

There - better now. I WOULD 'jones' without the forum - but not for lack of
posting - more for lack of reading interesting material on Corvettes.
I did venture into the other area yesterday for a few minutes. I am now
better for knowing that 'cat' is the other white meat. yeah. funny - but it's not for me.

Don't take my C3 away !!

Check out some of the daily averages, one comes to mind that averages close to 60 posts a day, for close to a total of 45,000... Not sure if it's an addiction, but like you said, out of that post count, how many of them actually contain anything more then a smiley. Just something to do for the post ho's..

anyone who gets on this forum or any other for that matter just to "ring" up a post total needs to get a life. i've been on this forum since 1999(i think) and i have 1200 and some posts. if you're here to much how do you work on your C3, go to work, + the day to day regular living crap you have to do? i use this forum as another source of information and wished it was around when i started rebuilding my vette in 1996. i find these polls stupid and wish other members would post other non relevant crap in OT. in MHO we don't need to know what color your car is, how old we are, or what we do for a living, why monkeys only eat chocolate ice cream on Tuesdays, or why women are fickle, etc; these type of posts doesn't help keep C3's running down the road and i think that should be our goal here. sorry for the rant, these sperm retention headaches are killing me!!!!

Yeah, I'd miss the C3 discussion section. In addition to helping with my Vette, you guys have helped me with my household plumbing and electrical repairs and also work on some of my other vehicles.

I don't know how many post I have exactly, maybe 4,800, and have been a member since early 2000. At this rate I'll need 4 more years to reach 10,00 and get a custom avatar. :cry
