Re: Where did you buy your C3? (Masterfulks)
I got mine through a private owner, after networking through some vette buddies to find it. Car wasn't advertised for sale but I was told he would sell it if the right buyer came along, he wanted it to have a good home. Vettes don't get much better pampering then they do around my family. Anyway, talk to other vette owners at car shows, most of us know at least 5 other vette owners in the area, and most of us know someone who is trying to part with one or would sell if the price was right. I seem to find a lot of the better cars this way. Also the for sale section here isn't a bad spot to look either, becouse your normally buying from an enthusiast here rather then just an owner.

local ads & Want Ad press in northern NJ back in '97. I was not as familiar of all the sites available online at that time. Maybe that was a good thing for me not to have too many choices & decisions to make.
good luck...!

First one was from a friend of the family.
My current one we found in the local classifieds about 5 miles from home. Bought a 78 from the original owners, as soon as we opened up the garage door and he pulled the cover off I knew we had come upon one of those once in a lifetime deals. They were absolutely **** about the car, to the point of informally interviewing us to see what type of people we were.

Found one on Autotrader website, ended up not getting it. Found the one I got in a local classified section. Always good to let local Chevy guys know you are looking as well.

I was going to look at a 78 SA with 14,000 miles at a place that builds cobras. The 78 looked like it had 140,000 miles and when I told the salesman that he got really mad at me.I left and on my way home I passed a specialty car dealer and bought my 75 vert with 30,000 miles. That was 5 years ago now it has 40,000.

I put an add in the paper stating exactly what I wanted got a few calls and one jackpot. I got my '70 convert for $2500 about 7 yrs ago. It needed paint and interior work but all the pieces were there and I drove it home. The guy was about to move and didn't want to hassle with advertising.

This is my first. I bought it from a female co-worker who didn't like it anymore and was tired of it. (not a true corvette lover), so she sold it to me for 5K. That was two years ago, and I am still in heaven. :blueangel:

Vette only dealership in Largo Fl. They' re azz holes and they have no soul. I would'nt wish them on a dead Mustang owner. On the good side, we did buy the vette we were looking for, right color, motor, year, and tranny.

Collector Car trader online. Took a risk but wanted a rust free Southwestern vehicle. Carfax showed a consistant 1500 miles a year with Pomona Ca. area registration.
Body had new black paint and Interior was a little rough, but had new seat covers. Only surprises were the bad brake vacuum power booster and leaky rear main seal.
So far I consider myself lucky.
