I was wondering what I could possibly run in the 1/4 mile with my current mods and what kind of pump gas I can run with my compression. Any ideas or even guesses?
Ahh, I was hoping for some high 12s with the setup. Maybe some gears can give it some more pep. By the way what kind of gas will I have to use with that compression?
I have a stock '70 LT-1, except for a 750 Holley DP.
My best time was a 13.02 @ 110, with 60 series street tires.
Very little traction for most of 1st gear.
I should be able to run in the high 12's if I had some "stick" off the line.
Your setup is similar, however, in my opinion if you want a high 12 here are a few things to consider.
Do you have headers??? (What goes in, must be able to come out)
What gears are you running ??
Not sure you can get a 12 from a 650 size carb.
To make power at high rpm's, you need plenty of carb.

I had a very similar setup on my '69 Vert.. and I ran 13.60's with it.. The main reason was the TH400 tranny (with 2600 converter) which eats up a lot of HP...
ElectronBlueC3, here's the set-up in my 3800-lb '79 Z28, that runs 12.80s @ 105 MPH: 10.3:1 355" (runs fine on SUNOCO94/AMOCO93), Dart 2.02"/1.60" Iron heads (outta the box), Victor Jr, 750 dbl-pumper, CompCams 292H (.501"/244* @ .050" lift), Hedman Hedders, THM400 w/ 2.75:1 1st gear/1.57:1 2nd gear, 8"/4500 RPM converter, 4.10 gears, 28" x 10" Goodyears.
If I had-to guess on your car, 13.70/14-flat @ 98 MPH? I think you'll need more carb, more converter, more gear, & more 'tire' (traction) to run 12s, but, what do I know; I have the World's Slowest Corvette!!! (see my sig)
