Default C3 interior differences

I'm been looking at as many interior pics of the different C3 years as I can find.

They all appear to be pretty similar, but it can be tough to tell from a picture.

I do know that the 77 was the last year of the verticle rear windshield.
The 77 seems to have a longer steering column of about 2"'s.
I think sometime around the 80's model, they went to a 85mph speedo. I dont remember the year exactly. I'm leaning 77 or earlier so the speedo difference after 77 doesnt really matter.

So what have I missed? Any big differences? Does the extra 2"s matter that much? I'm about 6'2" tall so I thought it might be slightly more fitting, but ultimately I guess I dont know till I hop in that seat.

thx

You might be referring to the tilt telescopic option. Check it out when you look at one again 85 speedos started in late 79

See 77 Facts on my website. St. column shorter in 77. Console was changed in 77. Interior basically same 68-77.

The part is really dislike the worst about the later shark interior is that console, especially the a/c controlls, seems there is not ONE of them I have ever looked at that's in one piece....all the screws pulled out, thing falling apart, plastic crap.....frustrating as hell to deal with, allways something, and those parts must be made of special plastic or something, judging by the price...
then there is that carpet siding, with the damn chipboard all warped and broken, and super hard to align to the screw holes.....
then the black console main plastic piece.....allways broken up....and hard to work on too boot...

not that MY stock early shark was any easier to work on, but at LEAST it was metal, and less likely to break the damn structure....not that the leatherette console side surround is any prince in this tale.....
I did cure my stock rear console piece, it's a somewhat crude heavy early production fiberglass layed up piece from Carlysle...but there is ONE nice thing....I does NOT BREAK!!!!....just gotta love it....
