WIRING PROBLEM........HELP TAIL LIGHTS
REPLACED BLOWN LEFT REAR BRAKE LIGHT. ALSO REPLACED RIGHT SIDE AS WELL. NOW I STEP ON THE BRAKE AND THE LEFT BRAKE LIGHT GOES ON AND THE RIGHT SIDE DOES NOT WORK. TURN ON LEFT SIDE TURN SIGNAL AND THE RIGHT SIDE GOES OUT. TURN ON RIGHT SIGNAL AND IT WORKS. WHEN LIGHTS ARE ON THE LEFT SIDE IS BRIGHTER. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHERE TO START??????

Hey everyone - sorry to "pile on" on this posting, but I'm having a very similar yet different problem. My tail-lights on my 81 won't work either -- can't tell if they ever worked since I drive it daylight only since acquired. I disassembled all four assemblies, put in new bulbs, removed all the "extra wiring" some idiot added to tow god-knows-what, and put it all back together. Still didn't solve problem. Turn sigs OK, brake lights OK, no tails. The tail-light fuse blows every time I turn on headlights -- hence the above mentioned solution. I've visually inspected all the wiring form each tail assembly back to the point where it enters interior.
