How Do You Get This Thing Off!
I'm havin the hardest time with it....I need to put on a new shift boot.

You should be able to just twist it counterclockwise. There isn't a retaining pin is there?

No pin, they just get stuck as heck over the years. Penetrating oil and a strap wrench, turn counterclockwise.

I just took mine off 2 days ago. If you have a new one handy I would say a pipe wrench would do it.

I used a pipe wrench with a shop rag rapped around the *** so as not to scratch it

I used that same method about a week ago, worked good. It felt like I was going to break something but I didn't.

Wow, I'm really glad someone asked this. I have an auto but have the same problem. It would twist to a point and then stick. I never tried to twist it too hard cause I didn't know if something would break! You guys rock! Learn something new every day. Guess I'm done for today!
