hi,
sometimes, when i stick it in drive i get a metallic clunk,
is this a common thing??????????
could it be the brake pads moving slightly in the calipers, i took the metal shims out a few weeks ago,
thanks,
neil
Check your universal joints (all 6 of them), and make sure the front differential mount and it's cushion are all tight. If you don't find the problem there move out to the wheels and check the bearings, braakes, and trailing arm bushings.
OK guys, here's my verdict. Mine has been doing this for 3 years now. IT CAN'T BE FIXED. I have talked to several people who said their C3's did this right off the showroom floor. It is a result of the slack between gears in the drivetrain, especially the diff. Have talked to 4 or 5 people who properly replaced every U-Joint and that did not fix it. GM makes the lubricant to add to your diff which is supposed to help stop the noise. I have not heard how it works. Anyone?
