Hey, glad you got the straps in time. The best lift points are just in front and just behind the doors. Some of the catalogs that sell the lift lit have an illustration that shows that. Some people rig up a little extra strap for the nose because there is a little more weight out there. (a problem I did not have) Just go slow and easy and make sure everything is disconnected.
You will most likely have to drill out the broken studs but they will be real easy to get to once the body is off.
Good luck!

MAKE SURE you support the nose. It is likely to cause the fiberglass to pull away at the windshield and possibly other places as well if you don't.

I put a list of things to look for when removing the body. The rear bolts that broke off have a nut on the top inside the car. It would be easier to cut it off than to try and drill the bolt out. Look to http://www.corvettefaq.com/ for more info on what to do. I used a come-a-long on the nose as well as the lifting straps to lift mine off.

I did the same thing as you #2 - broke the bolt off. However, with the body off I was easily able to put a Stilsen wrench on the broken bolt and turn itout.

Redwingvette just went through this and his link (posted above) should clear any questions you might have. The only suggestion I wish to make is be careful if your rocker channels are all rusted out, there may not be enough structure there to support the weight of the body. I lifted mine using slings that I worked completely under the body and it worked well.
