I am getting my 76 painted in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if
anyone had changed out their 74-79 style bumpers for 80-82. If so
what were your cost. Did you by new from who and what additional parts
are required; ie lights grill etc; Also is it reonable to think they could be found
in salavaged yards?
I decided to go with the 80-82 style bumpers on my 76 as well...got them both from corvette central a couple of years ago but have yet to install or paint them :banghead: Looking foreward to it someday...i think they look really cool
I have a 80 rear on my 77 and the look of it is pretty sharp... i never really thought about it until this last weekend at the corvettes on the square in Independence, Mo, when the guy that was guiding me into my parking spot asked if my car was an 80....if something does happen to my front end, i will go to the 80 front end though.. i like the front and rear end of the 80, but dont care much for the big window...
A friend of mine has the rear bumper updated on his 76.
I like it.... Check with some vette recyclers. I sold my 80 rear bumper a couple of months ago for around $150.00
The rear spoiler is not needed for 68-77. The original design rear spoiler was cut down to a lip for production to make it better.
If you are going to add anyway, the 80- rear spoiler is normally wavy & you might want to do something about that.
