I gutted a nice '70 Opel GT, and built an all tube chassis, 383sbc w/3x2's, race prep th350 trans, 9" ford rear (22" disc-to-disc), roll-cage, and hydraulic tilt body! btw... the tires were 31x18.5! It was a little screamer!! :reddevil
Thanks... yeah, it's amazing what a little plasma cutter and boredom can do for a car. It was an all steel body.. doors worked as original... the hood was a lift off. But it was certified street legal! I ran low 10's with the 3x2's.... and low 9's with the 671 blower... with LOT's of wheel spin. I needed slicks and wheelie bars.. the 4-link and Koni-coilovers worked great!
I'm getting bored with my vette already.... it may become this ones older borther!! :reddevil
Thanks Twin_Turbo for posting the pics... I'm signing up for cardomain.com right now! Maybe they will be a bit better... :hurray:
Yea, the Opel was a fun project, and got LOT's of attention everyplace I drove it! It had a bit too much cam, but what the heck.. at 2700lbs and a 5:13 gear... I didn't worry about needing alot of low torq anyway! :D
The '84 S-10 had a 383sbc, th350, 12-bolt rear, and 31x18.5 rears under the custom "dually" fenders.
The '76 had a 496ci pontiac, th400, 12-bolt read and a 800-watt stereo system.. (notice the reflection of the twin 15" sub woofers in the rear window!) :reddevil She was a deceptive car... it ran mid 11's!~
