Found a listing for a 1981 with a 350 LT-1 motor. Is this good, bad or neutal? Before I call and look stupid I would rather look stupid here. Any specific questions you would ask about this motor? Any info on the LT-1 would be appreciated.
70, 71, 72 for the early ones, C4s (not sure of the years) are the late model fuel injected versions. If it is an early one, the year the engine is spec built to will help determine value.

The FI LT1 found in the C-4's ran from 92-96. As mentioned above the 1st generation LT-1 setup will have solid lifters (more maintainance), and problems passing emissions in some areas. If someone went through the trouble of setting up the car for the 2nd generation LT1, like whats in the 92-96's than you have a strong, reliable, efficient engine.
As with any corvette purchase check the numbers on the engine. Very possible it is neither LT1. Some people will call a vette engine whatever happens to fly out the as..... I mean mouth just cause it sounds good.
