Default headlight electrical problem

Got in the car the other night to drive home, and the headlights would not come on... neigther high beams nor low beams...

Headlights pop up fine.
Park lights - AOK
Dash lights - AOK

Happened one other time, but they just turned on after a few minutes and
were fine after that.

Also, this morning when I started the car, and turned on the lights, they did come on for a second then went off and wouldn't do a thing after that.

After reading the wiring diagram, it seems to me like either

a) A faulty light switch
b) a short, that is keeping the circuit breaker open.
c) Faulty high/low beam switch.

Anyone had a similar problem ? or any insight ?

What's the easiest way to get at the headlight switch ?.. Top down via the speaker hole ? ..or Bottom up ?

Thanks eh !

IF the turn signal and side markers are also out, it's the grounding wire of about 12 ga black wire attached to the radiator support typically....at any rate I"d assume it's the headlight wiring harness ground point thats in trouble....

the headlight dimmer COULD be the cause also....but if it snaps well on actuation off the lever, it should be fine....mostly...can't see both positions of the switch being bad....

did you check to make sure that the head light wires are attached good to the balubs. also id diag it first befor just trowing parts at it, just start back probing from the lights.

Hmmm... All other light systems seem to be fine, so.. I think the grounding should be ok.

Only the high beam dash indicator does not work, but neither do the lights...

Things seem to be pointing to the headlight switch itself.

Time to open up the dash..
