Default Lakewood scattershield question

Will this thing fit no problem in a Big Block 69. I am assuming they are not Model specific. Thanks.

I have one in my 69.
I did have a little bit of a clearance issue with a little bracket that is welded onto the bell housing that is not used. It sits right above the opening for the clutch fork to go through and it was rubbing against the under side of the body. You may check if they make a specific model for a vette that does not have that accessory bracket welded to it. I had to cut it off for proper clearance.

I'm in the process now of aligning the bellhousing. I emailed Lakewood as to the suitability, as their description ends with V8's at '82 (I think) I'm using an '87 Mark IV in a 1970 and they said there should be no problem.

Aligning the bellhousing is a PIA though.(for me)

I also cut the accessory bracket off of mine for easier installation.

I had to take the side grinder to my bellhousing flange because it hit the passenger side header on a small block (Hooker headers). The flange is very wide though, and I don't think it made any difference in the strength. Other than that, it fit perfect (again, on a small block).
