I got the idea last night to try a test drive wearing ear plugs, the type that go in the ear plus a set of head ear plugs. It seemed to totally block out all car noise. I just wanted to get the feel of the car and not be influenced by changes in sounds of the exhaust/motor/blower.
I was really nice. Felt like a brand new car. In one stretch I totally ignored the speedometer and just kept going faster and faster until I started to feel a slight tremor in the car, very slight but a slight change and I looked at the speedometer and I was running right on 120.
In another stretch I went over a rough section and at one time bottomed the suspension. Even through the ear plugs/mufflers I could hear/feel the pipes at the back where they pass under the rear end lightly scrap. I was moving for that rough section.
I enjoyed the ride so much I have throw a dozen pairs of ear plugs in the car and will use them on a regular bases.
When you get older the noise doesn't impress you. It is the power/ the smooth flow of power and the smoothness of the ride.
Throughout all the high speeds runs not once did the steering feel in the least bit darty/unpredictable.
I feel I am arriving at a descent set up front end.

I find that having a vert and loud exhaust makes you think you are going faster than you are. When I drive my Formula with the tops on and windows up I can go 110 and feel like am doing 70, until I pass people like they are stopped. :leaving:
